Sode Sri Vadiraja Matha

Tirthaprabandha — Privacy Policy

Effective & last updated: August 20, 2026 Applies to: the Tirthaprabandha iOS and Android app

Tirthaprabandha is a free reading companion to Sri Vadiraja Tirtha's Tirthaprabandha, offered to devotees by Sode Sri Vadiraja Matha with no advertising and no cost. This page explains, plainly and completely, what the app collects, why, and how you can control it. If a claim below ever stops matching what the app actually does, treat the app's real behavior as a bug — email us using the address at the bottom.

Overview

Every one of the 87 tirthas, their shlokas, and their arthas are built into the app itself — reading them never touches the network. The only things that ever leave your device are the few pieces described below, and only when you've chosen to sign in.

You can use almost the entire app — browsing all four Prabandhas, reading every place's shloka and artha, searching, the map, and finding nearby tirthas — without ever creating an account. Signing in is only needed for the small set of features that are genuinely personal: saved Bookmarks, your Yatra Diary, and your Parayana plan.

What we collect

The table below is the complete list — there is nothing collected beyond what's shown here.

DataWhere it livesWhy
Name & email Our server Only if you sign in with Google or Apple, to identify your account. Nothing else from your Google/Apple profile is requested.
Bookmarks & recently viewed places Device + server Kept on your device always; also synced to your account if signed in, so the same list appears on another device.
Yatra Diary, personal notes, Parayana plans Device only Stored entirely on your device. We never receive or see this content, signed in or not.
Current location Device only, momentary Used on-device to sort tirthas by distance for the Nearby feature and Suggested Yatra plans. It is never sent to or stored on our servers.
Advertising or analytics identifiers Not collected The app has no ads and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs of any kind.

Location

Location is used only to answer one question — "which tirthas are nearest to me right now?" — for the Nearby screen and for building a Suggested Parayana itinerary. The coordinate is read from the device, used immediately to sort a list already stored in the app, and discarded. It is not transmitted to our servers, not attached to your account, and not logged anywhere.

If you decline location access, or turn it off later in iOS/Android Settings, the rest of the app — including a Manual Parayana plan where you pick places yourself — continues to work normally.

Accounts & sign-in

Signing in is entirely optional and only unlocks Bookmarks, Yatra Diary, and Parayana Plan history across devices. You can sign in with Google or with Sign in with Apple; we request only your name and email from either, and Sign in with Apple's "Hide My Email" option works normally with this app.

We never see or store your Google or Apple password — authentication happens entirely through Google's and Apple's own sign-in systems.

Sharing & third parties

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. The only outside parties involved are:

  • Supabase — hosts the small database holding your profile, bookmarks, and recently-viewed list, if you've signed in.
  • Google Sign-In / Sign in with Apple — used solely to authenticate you; see their own privacy policies for how they handle sign-in on their end.

None of these receive your location, notes, diary, or Parayana plan content — that data never leaves your device.

Storage & security

On-device data is stored in the app's own private storage area, which the operating system already prevents other apps from reading. Anything synced to our server (your profile, bookmarks, recently viewed) is transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored with Supabase, our hosting provider.

Your choices

You're in control of every optional piece of data collection in this app:

  • Skip sign-in entirely — tap "Continue as Guest" and read the full text of the Tirthaprabandha freely.
  • Deny or revoke location access — anytime in system Settings; use a Manual plan instead of Suggested.
  • Turn off daily verse reminders — a local notification you opt into from More → Reminders, and can switch off the same way.
  • Sign out — from More → Sign Out, at any time.

Deleting your data

Open More → Delete Account to permanently remove your profile and synced bookmarks/recently-viewed list from our server, right from within the app — no email required. This cannot be undone.

Since your Yatra Diary, personal notes, and Parayana plans are stored only on your device, uninstalling the app removes them completely, whether or not you ever signed in.

Prefer email instead? Write to the address in Contact below and we'll delete your account on request.

Children

Tirthaprabandha is a general-audience devotional reading app, not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information through account sign-in, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If what the app collects or how it's used changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Meaningful changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
